Getting started

#1: Choosing your class

Norse being a server means that you will have to actually spend some time working our for your gears and characters. Therefore, we generally recommend our players to choose the Archer as their first character.

As an Archer you will be able to hunt all over the world and find goodies that will surely help you improve your equipment and server as a starting base for you.

#2: First steps

Once you have your character created you must exit the Birth Village by speaking to Village Gateman in the Northeast of the map, you'll then be sent to Twin City, where you will be able to speak to the Guide NPC and find out more about our server as well as request players to level you by clicking the "How to get started?" dialog followed by the "Ask for P-Level" option. It shouldn't take long until someone contacts you and helps you out.

In case you haven't found a team you can also head to famous maps as Bird Island or the Advanced Zone (AlientSerpents & Basilisks - Guild Conductor 2) as people will most-likely be leveling characters there.

Note: You must speak to GuruTodd at Twin City center and ask him for double experience - he'll give you an hour of double experience while you're below level 70.

#3: Make a miner

Once you find yourself someone to level you, it is time to start thinking about getting yourself an alt account and leave it inside the Mine cave. It won't directly help you leveling but the extra gold you can get for selling gold ores and the gems you will get while mining that can be used to get meteors from the Blue Mouse Quest will really help you out getting started early in the game.

Note: You can also obtain DragonBalls and Super Gems while mining which will be a great help if you find any.

#4: Learn FastBlade/ScentSword/ViperFang

As you might have noticed by now, there are PVP Events running twice per hour that will not only give you some great rewards in case you win them but they will also give you some experience for participating. They can also be a distraction for you to take a break of hunting as they're fun and really quick lasting less than a couple minutes.

Even if you don't plan to use blade or sword we strongly recommend you to learn these skills and join the PVP Events as most of them are hit/skill based meaning that your gears won't determine anything making them a fun break for everyone.

#5: Remember to vote

Once you reach level 50, a dialog asking you to vote for the server will popup every 12 hours when you login on the server. Once you accept to vote, it will open a browser window which will be redirected to the voting website and where you'll have to fill a captcha and simply click the vote button.

If you did everything right, a sucessful vote must have been added to our server and as an appreciation, a vote point must have been added to your character. Vote Points can be exchanged for several rewards at the NPC in Twin City near the Blacksmith.

Note: We strongly recommend you to exchange your Vote Points for 1 or 3 days of VIP subscription as you will have the chance to experience all the benefits of a VIP player.

#6: Build up your equipment

Now that you have probably leveled yourself a bit, the next thing you must be thinking of is how you'll get yourself some equipment to start with. Class promotions will grant you some starting items so make sure you don't forget to promote yourself as soon as possible. Level 15 promotion will award you a L15 Refined Set of items while level 40 and 70 promotions will award you an Unique Set of items.

Once you got these items you should start hunting for some Meteors, DragonBalls and +1 items which can be either used to improve your equipment or sold to other players to gather some gold. Make sure you learn Scatter and try choosing the spawn where you can hunt as better as possible - spawns like the Robins in Twin City, the Bandits at Phoenix Castle or MinMacaques at Ape City secondary maps are the ones we usually recommend our players to start hunting at as there's a plenty amount of monters and they're weak enough for you to kill them with Scatter.

#7: Adventure yourself

If you have followed all of these steps you are in the right path to become a real conqueror in the server. By now you should start looking at all the guides we have in this page and understand what quests and events you and make and join to continue progressing in the game. As an archer your next step would be heading to the Labyrinth and level yourself from there.

Great adventures, battles and friends are surely waiting for you ingame so enough of reading and lets get it started. Norse counts on you to become a legend and defeat everyone else, make sure you don't let us down.

Improve your FPS

Blinking Mouse Cursor

If you are having problems with low framerates and your mouse cursor keeps blinking every now and then, the following steps below might help you out fixing this issue.

The low framerates issue is caused by the way Some Intel CPU's handle Background and Forground Applications. Enabling pointer trails helps it see the client as a Forground application.

Increase FPS cap

By default, the client's FPS cap is set for 120 framerates per second. However this value can be increased/decreased to whatever value you want or you believe to be the best for you.

To do so, open the Config.cfg file that's inside your client with a text editor such as Window's 'notepad'. Here you'll find the following text: "Fps=120" - changing this value will set a new FPS cap for your client.

This file also allows you to change other client settings such as enabling/disabling fullscreen mode by changing 'Fullscreen=1' to 0 or changing the actual window size to a custom size of your own by choosing a Width and Height and leaving 'Fullscreen=1'.

Razer Cortex: Game Booster

Razer Cortex suspends processes that your PC doesn’t need to use while game. This frees up memory and CPU power which results in less laggy gameplay and improved frames per second.

Razer Cortex will not affect your hardware settings. Razer Cortex instead focuses your PC’s processing power and memory onto the game that you’re running.

You can download Razer Cortex here.

Reduce your ping

Method #1 - Leatrix

Leatrix Latency Fix will reduce your online gaming latency significantly by increasing the frequency of TCP acknowledgements sent to the game server. For the technically minded, this is a program which will modify TCPAckFrequency.

To install Leatrix Latency Fix 3 simply download the program, extract it and then run Leatrix_Latency_Fix_3.x.exe. When the program launches, click the Install button. You will see the status change from 'Not Installed' to 'Installed'. You need to restart your computer (or disable/enable your network card) for the changes to take effect.

Your Windows account needs to have Administrator rights in order to install or remove Leatrix Latency Fix. If your Windows account doesn't have Administrator rights, you will be prompted for the credentials of an account that does have them.

After Leatrix Latency Fix has been installed, you can login to your online games with reduced latency!
You can download Leatrix Latency Fix 3 here.

Method #2 - WTFast

WTFast is the Gamers Private Network: like a global automated army of IT specialists all working together to optimize your game connection from end to end. WTFast reports rich connection stats for your online game, so you can see exactly what is happening with your game connection.

You can download WTFast here.

Method #3 - Pingzapper

Pingzapper helps you reduce your ping in your favorite online games directly through optimized network routes and avoiding problematic hosts. It by-passes traffic shaping, throttling and restrictions for increased bandwidth and decreased latency.

You can download Pingzapper here.

Method #4 - BattlePing

Battleping helps gamers achieve a faster connection and improve in-game response time to over 60 games including Aion, Blade and Soul (NA/EU), Final Fantasy XIV , Wildstar, Age of Wushu and World of Warcraft (WOW).

Their servers are large scale PvP and Raid optimized. Their networks are located on the US East & West Coast, Chicago, Texas, Europe (France, Germany, Netherlands and UK (London), Australia, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong) - EU ones should be the ones chosed by you to optimize your ping at our server.

You can download Battleping here.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How to get started?

A: Generally all players should make a basic archer to use to hunt with. Having a miner or two is also a great way to earn some silver by selling gold ores to NPC and using/selling gems or using them to complete bluemouse to earn extra meteors. Once you have some basic items saved up you can worry about what 'main' character you want to make and can start leveling more intently.

Q: Which class to choose?

A: We often recommend our players to start as an archer so that you will be able to hunt for some DragonBalls/Meteors and build up some gears before actually starting leveling your main character.

Q: How to get items?

A: You will gain starter items once you promote yourself at level 15. Once you promote yourself at level 40 and 70 you will also receive some better quality items to help you out. Other than that hunting is required, you will need to sell the items you hunt for gold or DragonBalls/Meteors so that you can afford better gears.

Q: Where is the best place to hunt?

A: There are several good hunting spawns in the server. We usually point out secondary maps since they would be the ones with the biggest spawns. For starters the best ones would be Robins at Twin City, Bandits at Phoenix Castle main map and secondary map, Macaques at Ape City and MinMacaques at Ape City secondary map.

Q: Are there Conquer Points (CPs)?

A: Norse does have NON-BUYABLE Conquer Points.. The only way to earn Conquer Points is to exchange in-game gold for Conquer Points.

Q: How to disable fullscreen?

A: To disable the forced fullscreen mode all you have to do is open the Config.cfg file inside your client folder with 'notepad' and simply change 'Fullscreen=1' to 'Fullscreen=0'. You can also change the maximum amount of FPS to be run by the client or set a custom size for your client window.
